- 'Parks Board falls behind on debt service for golf course irrigation (Marshall Democrat-News)
The Marshall Parks and Recreation Department is struggling with two little green monsters, the algae that clogs its golf course irrigation system and the interest payments that are clogging its budget.

Bartow Women's Golf Association had two matches during the past two weeks. On Feb. 18, 19, and 21, Pat Lowery and Ethel Smith tied for first with 32 putts, and Mary Bourque came in next with 33 putts in a two-penny putts match.

The PGA of America recently announced that golf?s most exclusive event -- The PGA Grand Slam of Golf, limited to the winners of the year?s four majors -- will again be played at Poipu Bay Golf Course and Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa in Hawaii in 2006. The season-ending showcase featuring golf?s premier foursome will take place Nov. 21-22, and will be televised on TNT.
